Marcia Galleher first stepped onto the yoga mat nearly 50 years ago. It was the initial experience of peace in savasana that led her to find out how to sustain it. Marcia's intuitive instruction is rooted in Hatha Yoga. Classes are taught in a meditative style with postures flowing in a smooth sequence. They include aspects of yoga philosophy seamlessly weaved throughout. Marcia is an artist, a gardener, an astrologer and a pisces. John Browning's yoga practice became a special part of his overall wellness as he counterbalanced a demanding military career. Now retired and a certified yoga teacher, John is compelled to assist students find his/her improved physical and mental sense of well-being both on and off the mat. Dina Singer discovered yoga ten years ago as a freshman in college and became a certified yoga instructor in 2015 at CorePower Yoga Seattle. Her yoga classes consists of creative and balanced sequences that link breath with movement. Her goal is to create a sacred space for students to express themselves freely and connect to their highest potential. Dina loves listening to the sounds of nature, watching sunrises over the ocean, yummy foods and connecting to her lower Puna community!
Kimberly Dark has been teaching hatha yoga since 1998 and offers Yoga is for Every Body retreats in Hawaii. She is also a writer, sociologist and storyteller. Her essays about yoga, body stigma and yoga's U.S. cultural context appear in Yoga International and other publications. Justine Shelton came to Yoga for relief of physical pain and limitations after her collegiate athletic career. Determined to share with others the healing benefits she received from her Yoga practice, she specializes in therapeutic Yoga. Maxwell was first introduced to meditation and yoga by his mother when he was 10 yrs. old. He completed his Yoga Teacher Training in 2003 and received a Massage Therapy license the same year. He has studied a wide range of healing arts, taught at Kalani and co-facilitated yoga/meditation retreats. Maxwell's approach to yoga and movement is intuitive. He encourages students to be aware of subtle energy and sensations, using intuition to find the place that feels best in each moment.
Crystal Galleher has been on the path of yoga since childhood. Her first teacher was her mother Marcia. Crystal started teaching yoga after attending a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Center in 2014. Crystal's path of yoga is rich from experiences in Ashrams throughout India, a Yoga & Ayurveda Immersion on Kaui, a Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, and from living and studying at Mount Madonna Center in CA. She is passionate about teaching asana in a form that is accessible to everyone.

The hOMe Yoga studio originated during the Kilauea lava flow to satisfy the need for Yoga classes after the closure of Kalani Honua in May 2018.

Vinyasa means “to place/arrange in a special way.” Vinyasa Yoga is a diverse style of yoga with emphasis on connecting breath (pranayama) with movement (asana) in a mindful and rhythmic flow. There are various schools of yoga that are under the umbrella of vinyasa yoga including Ashtanga, Baptiste Yoga, Jivamukti, Power Yoga and Prana Flow. It is an invigorating and dynamic practice that integrates sun salutations, core stabilization and spinal strengthening sequences to energize the body, stabilize the mind and uplift the spirit.

This class will be accessible and profoundly nourishing to students of all levels. A balanced sequence of centering, conscious breathing, thorough warm-ups, gracefully empowering asanas, and blissful relaxation will be offered. The wisdom and everyday applications of Ayurveda will be woven throughout the class.

Awaken the body and re-focus the mind using traditional breath work, stretching and fundamental yoga poses. This mid-week morning class is a great way to prepare and get energized for the day ahead. Chair Yoga is an excellent form of yoga for those limited in mobility and find it challenging to practice yoga poses on a mat, also suitable for new yoga students. Classes include the movement of postures, breathing techniques and meditation while seated or standing with a chair! Enhance flexibility, strength, muscle tone and improved breathing, Reduce stress and feel a sense of positive well-being.
TRADITIONAL HATHA YOGA . Thursday 8:30 am - 9:45 am MARCIA
Hatha Yoga is at the root of all the styles of contemporary yoga. Ha/Tha translates as Moon/Sun. It emphasizes Balance. Classes are taught in a meditative style with postures flowing in a smooth sequence. Emphasis is on inner awareness with the focus on breathing, chakras, hand mudras, currents of energy flow, and yogic philosophy for a full, balanced yoga experience.
Practice in a comfortable environment accompanied by inspiring music. Open to students of all levels.
PRE-NATAL YOGA . Thursday 10:15 am - 11:30 am CRYSTAL
With experience/education as a Birth & Postpartum Doula, Women’s Circle Facilitator, Menstrual Cycle Guide, Registered Yoga Teacher/Prenatal teacher, and overall lover of birth and womanhood, Crystal will offer this class as a soothing and supportive gift to all women in their journey of pregnancy. This class is taught with gentle, safe, and effective modifications and sequencing for all stages of pregnancy. There will be an emphasis on creating fluidity and openness in the pelvis as well as breathing practices, postures, and relaxation techniques that are great preparations for childbirth.

A slow, gentle breath-focused yoga journey that integrates some longer-held postures as well as traditional hatha yoga postures for enhanced prana flow and energetic rejuvenation.
We will begin with a brief meditation, then flow gently through seated kundalini movements, strengthen our bodies with a few standing postures before restoring in seated + reclining postures for a deepened sense of self + rejuvenated mind-body union.
RESTORATIVE YOGA . Saturday 8:30 am - 9:45 am KIMBERLY
Restorative Yoga poses focus on calming the central nervous system and developing habits of breathing and relaxation to support everyday calm. All postures are done on the floor, using support (props are provided). Simple range of motion postures accompany breathing and relaxation techniques so that participants leave refreshed and energized.

Introduction to QI GONG

Qi Gong is an Ancient Chinese mind-body-spirit exercise that enhances mental, emotional, physical health and increases spiritual insights. The form is integrative of meditation, breathing, coordinated movement and focused intent to increase energy and enable the body to heal itself. The health benefits are countless and profound.
This is an excellent practice to greatly enhance any or all of your other practices, ie; yoga, martial arts, dance, meditation, healing practitioner work, singing, etc.
Although we will primarily be standing in this form, anyone with injury or disability, (whether temporary or long term) that inhibits standing is welcome to join and will still receive the benefits with a modified sitting version.
Please bring water and a small hand towel.
No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
