Marcia Galleher first stepped onto the yoga mat nearly 50 years ago. It was the initial experience of peace in savasana that led her to find out how to sustain it. Marcia's intuitive instruction is rooted in Hatha Yoga. Classes are taught in a meditative style with postures flowing in a smooth sequence. They include aspects of yoga philosophy seamlessly weaved throughout. Marcia is an artist, a gardener, an astrologer and a pisces. John Browning's yoga practice became a special part of his overall wellness as he counterbalanced a demanding military career. Now retired and a certified yoga teacher, John is compelled to assist students find his/her improved physical and mental sense of well-being both on and off the mat. Modifications and advanced options are made available so that new students and experienced yogis can find maximum benefit. Dina Singer discovered yoga ten years ago as a freshman in college and became a certified yoga instructor in 2015 at CorePower Yoga Seattle. Her yoga classes consists of creative and balanced sequences that link breath with movement. Her goal is to create a sacred space for students to express themselves freely and connect to their highest potential. Dina loves listening to the sounds of nature, watching sunrises over the ocean, yummy foods and connecting to her lower Puna community!
Kimberly Dark has been teaching hatha yoga since 1998 and offers Yoga is for Every Body retreats in Hawaii. She is also a writer, sociologist and storyteller. Her essays about yoga, body stigma and yoga's U.S. cultural context appear in Yoga International and other publications. Dennis Dehler began his love of Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh at the Masters Touch Kundalini Training at the Omega Institute in New York in 2005. He combines Yogi Bhajan's traditional teachings with an intuitive approach that leaves you feeling more calm, full of vitality, more flexible and with lots of energy. Dennis taught Basic Kundalini yoga classes at Kalani Honua for fifteen years prior to its closure in May 2018.
Justine came to Yoga for relief of physical pain and limitations after her collegiate athletic career. Determined to share with others the healing benefits she received from her Yoga practice, she specializes in therapeutic Yoga. Maxwell was first introduced to meditation and yoga by his mother when he was 10 yrs. old. He completed his Yoga Teacher Training in 2003 and received a Massage Therapy license the same year. He has studied a wide range of healing arts, taught at Kalani and co-facilitated yoga/meditation retreats. Maxwell's approach to yoga and movement is intuitive. He encourages students to be aware of subtle energy and sensations, using intuition to find the place that feels best in each moment.

Vinyasa means “to place/arrange in a special way.” Vinyasa Yoga is a diverse style of yoga with emphasis on connecting breath (pranayama) with movement (asana) in a mindful and rhythmic flow. There are various schools of yoga that are under the umbrella of vinyasa yoga including Ashtanga, Baptiste Yoga, Jivamukti, Power Yoga and Prana Flow. It is an invigorating and dynamic practice that integrates sun salutations, core stabilization and spinal strengthening sequences to energize the body, stabilize the mind and uplift the spirit.

Hatha Yoga is at the root of all the styles of contemporary yoga. Ha/Tha translates as Moon/Sun. It emphasizes Balance. Join us as we tune into the rhythm of our own heartbeats and breath as we intentionally awaken our morning with seated kundalini breath movements, eventually transitioning into a gentle standing flow sequence and balance postures. Kundalini Yoga instructors teach from the tradition of Yogi Bhajan, introduced to America in the late 1960's. Kundalini applies specific mantras, breathing practices and meditation with bodily movements to release energy up the spine. One of the benefits is a focused mind and Dennis believes that Kundalini Yoga is the quickest and most effective way to practice disciplining the mind. His gentle approach focuses on opening up the energy centers in the body with Kundalini exercises.

As a Viniyoga Therapist, Justine brings her in-depth knowledge and experience to people of all ages and physical abilities. Reconnect to your breath and body's energy in this quiet, restorative class where we explore relaxing into postures for extended periods of time...anywhere from 2-7 minutes per posture. Based on meridian theory, Yin Yoga helps open up the nadis (energy pathways of the body) in passive stretches that allow our prana life-force energy to flow more freely. A wonderful compliment to a more active yang practice, Yin postures allow for many moments of deep meditation and leave us feeling peaceful, centered and sublime.

Tune into the primal Earth frequency and float on waves of deep relaxation, healing for body, mind and spirit.

Chair Yoga is an excellent form of yoga for those limited in mobility and find it challenging to practice yoga poses on a mat, also suitable for beginning yoga students. The classes include the movement of postures, breathing techniques and meditation while seated in a chair! Enhance flexibility, strength, and muscle tone, improve breathing, reduce stress and acquire a sense of calm and well being.

TRANQUIL AWARENESS MEDITATION

Tranquil Awareness Meditation classes guides beginners and experienced meditators to cultivate skills to engage in the guiding principles of meditation.
These meditative principles originate with Raja Yoga and Buddhist Mindfulness practices. They are taught with a practice method known as the Six Rs . It is a practical guide to develop balanced and heightened awareness with relaxed physical comfort. This approach to meditation develops uplifted mental states and is easy to do as smiling and relaxing.
